Builder’s Association group gets state award for helping seniors PDF Print E-mail

Based on a nomination by Citrus County officials, the Florida conference on Aging has given the Citrus County Builders Care a state award for "Service to Seniors by an Organization."

Builders Care is a non-profit charitable arm of the Citrus County Builders Association.

The County commission rallied around its county administrator on Aug. 10 when it was suggested there have been an inordinate amount of pay raises for county workers during the past two years.

The complaints were leveled by Citrus County Council President Theodora Rusnak and Lecanto resident Christopher Lloyd.

Some Citrus County firefighters will climb the equivalent of 110 flights of stairs on Sept. 11 in honor of their 343 fallen comrades who died in the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Center.
